Job Description:
Weldun Media is seeking an aspiring writer to join the Weldun creative team. The candidate will become a critical part of the team who is responsible for developing TV and Film concepts, overseeing scripts and preparing presentations. This specialized job is ideal for someone who loves watching local television and films and has a knack for inventing new characters, plots and compelling stories.
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to ensure accuracy and authenticity in stories.
- Developing engaging and compelling storylines
- Brainstorming ideas
- Crafting multi-dimensional characters with unique personalities and motivations.
- Collaborating closely with producers, directors, and other members of the creative and production team.
- Make changes to dialogue, structure, or plot elements to improve the overall quality stories and address any notes or concerns raised during the development process.
- Work efficiently and meet tight deadlines, especially in the fast-paced world of episodic television.
- Attending meetings, participating in table reads, and providing input when necessary
- Revise and rewrite scripts based on feedback from producers, network executives, or focus groups.
Required Education and Experience:
- Formal Training in Screenwriting (Degree and Qualification is advantageous)
- No Experience needed
- Script samples are required
Knowledge and Abilities:
- On the pulse of trending and pressing issues in society
- Knowledge of film and TV production.
- Knowledge on the proper format and structure of a script, proposal decks as per industry norms
- A strong passion for writing and storytelling

Working Conditions:
- Must be able to transport yourself to the office.
- Ability to manage some work outside of standard office hours as needed.

- Frequent use of hands for data entry/keystrokes and simple grasping
- Moderate noise level.
